There are several types of rafts, depending on their needs. Most commonly, rafts are used for boats, smaller boats, large passenger ships and loading and unloading ships, as well as life rafts for rescuing bathers, which are tethered to various rivers and lakes. The dock is equipped with a waste water tank, of 10-50 m3 volume, which is discharged mechanically, while the solid waste is disposed of in closed containers.
In the past, the rafts were made from boulders that were tied with rope and clamps, and on the upper surface they were connected to planks. In recent times, floating platforms are made of tin barrels, pontoons, pipes, plastic tanks and many other suitable elements. The surface is in most cases made of wood or tin plates, on which, if necessary, a protective fence is placed.
